Shell offers a suite of different training programmes, including graduate and apprenticeship opportuntities.

Shell UK SkillsTransition Programme

  • Shell UK has developed its SkillsTransition programme to invest in skills development to equip UK workers at all levels and ages with the skills relevant to taking up opportunities that are being presented by the energy transition.
  • Shell UK aims to help 15,000 people into jobs with a focus on the energy transition by 2035.
  • The SkillsTransition programme aims to invest in initiatives led by Further Education Colleges, charities, community groups and skills bodies to help people into employment, develop relevant skills, as well as support for entrepreneurs and energy startups.

OPITO is recognised as a leader in safety and competency training for the energy industry, and their standards are widely adopted by companies operating in the sector.

Aptus Apprenticeship Programme

OPITO, (on behalf of operators), and ECITB, (on behalf of contracting companies), have managed APTUS, formerly OGTAP, since 1999 – with over 2,000 apprenticeships successfully completed to date.
