Official forecasts suggest that oil and gas will remain a vital part of the UK’s energy mix as we move towards Net Zero. The last 12 months the super major oil and gas companies have announced their Net Zero strategy and are they now transiting into a sustainable energy company. Energy transition requires industry to make real progress in reducing its carbon footprint through emission reductions initiatives, including electrification, and energy efficiency measures.
The Oil & Gas Authority have announced that “managing declining North Sea production to maximise value, minimising greenhouse gas emissions and reducing reliance on hydrocarbon imports are all essential.” OGA’s UKCS energy integration project, has the potential to make a significant contribution to achieving the UK’s 2050 Net Zero targets through Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS), hydrogen, Offshore renewables wind, wave and tidal.
At The Future of the North Sea: Energy Transition to Net Zero you will be joined by 200+ oil and gas operators government officials, regulators, key industry stake holders, leading academia and service companies all working to one goal to ensure the UK Oil & Gas Sector achieves its Net Zero targets.
