Stronachs is a legal practice with extensive experience in the energy sector. We are one of the largest law firms in the north east with offices in both Aberdeen and Inverness.
We have acted on behalf of a wide variety of clients active in the renewable energy industry. We have advised Highlands and Islands Enterprise in relation to the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney and the tower manufacturing facilities at Arnish and Machrihanish. We have also acted on behalf of the Big Lottery Fund in relation to a number of community energy projects.
The firm’s dedicated agricultural and onshore renewables team regularly advises rural landowning clients in respect of renewable energy developments of all kinds including wind, solar, biomass and hydro. These have ranged from large scale projects on Highland estates to smaller ventures on owner occupied farms, or in some instances in relation to access agreements to enable a development to proceed on neighbouring land. We regularly advise on option and lease agreements and joint ventures. Stronachs also represents tenant farmers in respect of resumptions and variations of leases resulting from proposed renewable energy projects.
We pride ourselves on finding practical solutions to legal issues with achievement of our client’s commercial objective being paramount.
