Scottish Enterprise

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland’s main economic development agency and aims to deliver a significant, lasting effect on the Scottish economy.  Our role is to help identify and exploit the best opportunities for economic growth. That means opportunities to support Scottish companies to compete within the global marketplace; to help build globally competitive sectors; to attract new investment to Scotland; and to help create a world-class business environment.
Scottish Enterprise’s role in renewables, particularly offshore wind and marine, is to work with partners to help the sector thrive. We developed and will implement Scotland’s Offshore Wind Route Map with the Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, local authorities, other industry bodies and private energy companies.
Our particular focus is on attracting key investors to locate in Scotland; developing Scotland’s physical infrastructure (including implementing the National Renewables Infrastructure Plan); engaging with businesses which have the capacity and ambition to diversify into renewables; supporting research and development activity; and providing market intelligence, analysis and strategic insight.
